I've run some tests on the hunter 2pc
bonus on the latest PTR and it looks like the mortal shots fix is
working, but serpent sting crits still seem to be based off the
spell crit multiplier (50%) instead of the physical crit multiplier
(100%). Given that every other hunter ability that crits is based
off the 100% multiplier, it would seem logical that serpent sting
crits not using this multiplier is probably a bug and not
deliberate.
These are the numbers I got from my quick tests:
120 ticks- min 422, avg 525, max 583
75 crits- min 721, avg 897, max 997

Since Serpent Sting does spell damage,
it would use the spell crit multiplier and not the physical damage
crit modifier.

Some of your points have been pretty
convincing and have been taken into consideration. While this is
more of a design change vs. a bug, I have found that it should in
fact be a 100% critical damage multiplier. This will be corrected
for 3.2.2, but may not be in a build until next week.
