Ignis the Furnace MasterLocation: The Siege Hard Mode: No Health: 24 million (heroic) / 7 million (normal) |
Like the other titan creations in Ulduar, Ignis now serves the Old God Yogg-Saron. This imposing fire giant toils over the Colossal Forge, creating the iron armies that will conquer Azeroth in Yogg-Saron's name.
Abilities
Ignis the Furnace Master
| Flame Jets Stomps the ground causing geysers of flame to errupt under all enemies. These geysers deal 8483 to 9517 Fire damage (Normal: 5655 to 6345), knocking the targets into the air and interrupting any spells (from the spell school you were casting) being cast for 6 sec. In addition, the targets take 2000 (Normal: 1000) Fire damage per second for 8 sec. |
|
| Scorch Fires a jet of flame, burning all enemies in front of the caster within 30 yards, dealing 3770 to 4230 Fire damage (Normal: 2357 to 2643) every half-second for 3 sec. Additionally, the ground is scorched by this effect causing it to catch on fire, dealing 3016 to 3384 Fire damage (Normal: 1885 to 2115) every second to all enemies within 13 yards. Iron Constructs within this radius will begin to heat up, eventually becoming molten. |
|
| Slag Pot Charges and grabs a random enemy target, tossing them into the caster's slag pot. The target is unable to attack the caster and takes 6000 Fire damage (Normal: 4500) every second for 10 sec. If the target survives, they are imbued with the magical slag, increasing their haste by 150% (Normal: 100%) for 10 sec. |
|
| Activate Construct Every 45 seconds, Ignis will activate an Iron Construct, they are lined up on both sides of the hall. |
|
| Strength of the Creator Each time he activates an Iron Construct, Ignis gains a 15% damage increase buff, it stacks up to 99 times. You can remove the stacks by destroying or shattering the Constructs. |
Iron Constructs
Ignis will activate these adds through the fight.
| Heat Blasts all nearby Iron Constructs with intense heat, increasing their movement speed by 5 and haste by 5. This effect stacks up to 20 times. If this effect stacks to 20, the affected Iron Construct will become Molten. |
|
| Molten The caster becomes Molten, increasing haste by 100%. In addition, Flames errupt out from the caster every second, dealing 1885 to 2115 Fire damage to enemies within 7 yards. |
|
| Brittle The cold water causes molten Iron Constructs to rapidly solidify, rendering them unable to act. In addition, if they are dealt more than 5000 damage during this state, they will shatter, dealing 18850 to 21150 damage to all enemies in a 10 yard radius. |
|
| Shatter Deals 18850 to 21150 Physical damage to all enemies within 18850 to 21150 yards. Damage from this effect ignores armor. |
Strategy

The Encounter
From a very basic perspective, Ignis is a pure tank-and-spank fight with a few extra abilities, It’s basically Patchwerk with adds. These adds need to be managed well in order to succeed at this encounter. The synopsis of managing adds is to drag them into Scorch that Ignis casts on the ground. The adds (Constructs) will then receive a debuff that, at 20 stacks, lets them turn into a molten form. The Add tank then needs to drag the adds into the waterpool where they get “frozen” and your can shatter them with a 5000dmg attack – this amount of damage needs to be dealt at once. A warlock is very usable for this.
Raid Setup
- 3 Tanks
- 6-7 Healers
- 15-16 DPS
The fight doesn’t favor melees over ranged or the other way around, so you are pretty flexible when it comes to a setup. For healers, Shamans and druids are very strong in this fight due to the regular raid damage from Flame Jets.
The Pull
Ignis should be pulled via Miss Direct to your main tank who’s then dragging him close to the water pool.
The Fight
After some time, Ignis will start activating Constructs that are lined up on both sides of the hall. These constructs need to be tanked by your Add-Tank. They should be pulled towards Ignis so the Add-Tank can maneuver them into the Scorch patch that Ignis casts on the ground from time to time. While the constructs are standing in this patch, they will gain a debuff which will turn them into a molten form at 20 stacks. After turning molten, the Add-Tank should kite the Molten Contruct into the waterpool where they will get “freezed” and a Hunter, Warlock or Mage can shatter them (the raider who’s assigned to shatter needs to be able to deal 5000dmg in a single attack on a consistent basis). This is rinse-and-repeat each time Ignis activates a new construct. Also, you need to be quick with killing them as Ignis gains a buff after activating a construct which gives him a 20% damage increase. Shattering (killing) a construct removes this buff.
During this, Ignis will also grab a random person in the raid and put them into his Slag Pot. The slag pot deals 5000dmg every second for a duration of 10 seconds. This needs to be healed, otherwise people will die Smiley. After surviving the Slag Pot, you will receive a buff that increases your haste by 150%.
Flame Jet is Ignis AoE ability that deals 8500-9500 damage and interrupts spell casting for 8 seconds. You will also receive a DoT that deals 1000 dmg per second over 8 seconds. The casters should never be hit by Flame Jet.
DPS Ignis, kite and shatter constructs and win. Once you've gotten down how and when to kite the adds, Ignis is one of the easiest encounters in Ulduar and you should have little problem making him farm right away.
