Site Updates
The site received a couple of updates:

  • Guild profile related emails system improved (more details)
  • New stat on the Bluetracker stats page: most successful thread necromancies. This is just a fun addition to see which is the oldest thread necroed.
  • The account login page has been redesigned, making look a lot more modern.
  • Fixed the bug on the Server Alert tracking pages, that caused "/>" signs to be outputted in the diffs.
  • Added French, Spanish, Russian and German server alert tracking, with RSS feeds and separate entries in the blue posts menu

New Cataclysm details in PC Gamer

In their latest issue (November 09) PC Gamer UK released some new tidbits of ino about Cataclysm starting zone lore, raids. However we haven't been able to get our hands on their latest issue yet (today or tomorrow!), so we invite you to listen to the PC Gamer Podcast (above) and/or read the Wow.com article about it.

Quote
The four new raids, the article says, will be more like Naxxramas than Sartharion. We assume that means more in scope and number of bosses than difficulty. Of course, much like Arthas, Deathwing won't be in one of the launch raids. Tol Barad, the new Wintergrasp-style zone, gets a mention, as does the fact that there will be at least one additional new Battleground in addition to Gilneas.

Patch 3.3 - Vanish Change
Blizzard PosterGhostcrawler on Fix Vanish! No more excuses GC! (Source)

We have a change for Vanish in place for 3.3. You will get to try it out soon (tm). As promised, if it proves a significant buff to rogues, we may have to compensate elsewhere. Just because it hasn't worked as intended doesn't mean it will be balanced when it does.

Ghostcrawler taking a break from the official forums
Blizzard PosterGhostcrawler on I don't see why you all hate Ghostcrawler (Source)

I always said that when my posting was doing more harm than good that maybe it was time to stop. I think I'll at least chill it out a little. I will continue to read the forums though. If you want to make sure the WoW developer see your feedback, this is still a good place to post.

...Thanks for saying so many nice things. Fret not - the trolls didn't win. The haters don't get me upset or wear me down. Usually they just make me smile. :)

As I said, I'm not abandoning the forums. I just want to steer them back to being more about the classes and less about the developers. There are far too many 'What do we have to do to get you to buff us?' and 'Blizzard is dumb because they won't buff us' posts. As I have always, always said, make good points and we will read them. You don't need a blue post to validate a good thread.

I am going to continue to respond to topics I want to discuss, not the ones you think are most important (largely because you all won't agree anyway). To those of you who think player feedback accomplishes nothing, you're still wrong. :)

I love it.

If we fix vanish so that it does what its supposed to do, we're gonna nerf you elsewhere.

This is as close as I've ever seen anyone admit that vanish has been a broken ability on purpose.

Well , maybe they really will work on it for once. But a nerf will come along if it's too good.

My opinion is that they'll fix it and they'll realize it's so good they'll simply reverse the fix and send back vanish to it's default old same old state ^^
